WOMEN IN SUPPORT TOGETHER
A Message from the President
My goal is to help women with their boxing skills and become widely recognized. We are women involved in a male dominant sport and have always been struck with controversy. Without boxing greats like Muhammad Ali there would be no Laila Ali and without Joe Frazier there would not be a Jacqui Frazier-Lyde. So, do not get it confused, I respect mens boxing greatly, but like the saying goes, behind every strong man their stands a stronger woman. Fans want to see a great fight.

OHHH YESSS IT'S LADIES NIGHT: Results of Friday Nights All-Girls Show
Written by Anthony Lynn
Sunday, 09 May 2010 02:21
On Friday, May 7, 2010 FightLady.Org - President, Wanda Bruce in association with Trenton PAL Team Hope Bill McLaughlin put on it's 2nd All-Girls Boxing Show at the Trenton Housing Authority in Trenton, NJ. With 15 bouts set up for the night the fans in attendance were treated to a great night of boxing featuring the Present and Future of Women's Boxing.
Here is a summary of most of the matches last night:
1 - JO-Sr - 110. Jenna Chiarado, Champion of Life over Janay Williams, Team Hope W-3
Chiarado did a good job of landing effective blows throughout the matches coming away with a 2-1 victory.
2 - Nov. 132 Bertha Arcel, In-Wood Gym over Robin Percyz, Long Island W-3
-Arcel, who had improved after her previous bout, dominated the match up with her reach behind a strong jab and stright right. Percyz came back strong in the last round when Arcel seemed to fatigue but maintained enough from the earlier rounds to win by 3-0 decision.
3 JO-Jr. 75 - Liza Llanos, Juan LaPorte Gym over DeJanay Caldwell, Plainfield BA W-3
-The first time Llanos came to Trenton she almost didn't have a match up. The young lady, tiny as could be at around age 9 or 10, eyes filled with tears. However, her Caldwell was able to make weight and the match was on. Llanos pulled out the decision win with tears of joy in her eyes this time around. The two met again in a rematch and this time around Llanos wasn't going to give tears, but punches. From the openin bell Llanos showed tremendous power for a Jr Olympic boxer with a strong straight right which landed repeatedly to the body and head of Caldwell. Round after round Llanos put on the pressure and succeeded eventually getting a standing 8-count on Caldwell, who appeared tired and hurt. However, Caldwell buckled down and showed tremendous amounts of heart as she continued the match up to the end. Llanos won but 3-0 decision and is 2-0 over her rival Caldwell.
4 Nov. 125 Misota Kamegawa, In-Wood Gym over Heather Hardy, Gleasons Gym W-3
-In a competitive match-up Kamegawa pulled out the victory over Hardy after Kamegawa pulled out a strong 2nd round to win by a 3-0 decision.
5 Nov. 101 - Julie Ladisa, In-Wood Gym over Shynell Harris, Team Hope W-3
-Ladisa used strong pressuring boxing to pull out the 3-0 win over Harris. The hometown crowd was pushing for Harris, but a strong third round from Ladisa sealed the deal.
6 JO-Jr. 80 Debra Starks, Plainfield BA over Aiyana Callas, Champion of Life W-3
-Starks continues to improve greatly as she gets the 3-0 win over Callas of Champion of Life. Starks used her range with strong jabs and straights as she pulled off the win.
7 Open 132 Silvia Yero, In-Wood Gym over Camille Curray, Gleasons Gym W-4
-In a very close and competitive match up Yero of In-Wood Gym kept the squads record intact after winning 2-1 over USA Boxing member Camille Currie. Yero was able to land a lot of counters whenever Currie rushed in with pressure shots. Currie was able to land a few shots as it appeared Yero started to tire out and was called for a holding warning. However, Yero came away with the victory 2-1.
8 Open 112 Lauren Fisher, Indiana University Pa. over Christina Cruz, Cops n Kids W-4
-Fisher of IUP won 2-1 over Christina Cruz in a back and forth match up. Fisher was able to keep up the pressure but Cruz was game and landed counter shots when needed.
9 Nov. 165 - Kalita Marsh, North Carolina over Jenny Steel, England W-3
-Steel, coming over from the UK by way of Gleason's Gym had the momentum in the first round, but after getting instructions from her coach to "pick it up" to score big during the later rounds and win the match by 3-0 decision.
10 - Nov. 178+ - Naraie Pacheco, Juan LaPorte Gym over Lavern Hunter, Old-Time BS RSC-1 (1:16)
-With two knockdowns and hard punches Pacheco overwhelmed a game Hunter with a stoppage in the first round
11 - Nov. 178+ - Edna Jackson, Elite BC over Sylvantria Hawkins, Virginia W-3
-Jackson from Elite BC pulled out a 2-1 decision over Hawkins scoring points to the body with a straight right and power shots to the head. Hawkins showed heart and I really appreciate seeing boxers showing that no matter what.
12 Nov. 132 DaSha Ragland, Harrisburg BC over Elizabeth Arzan, Trenton PAL RSC-2 (0:51)
-Ragland dominated the first round with hard, effective and accurate punches against Arzan to build a huge lead. She put the show away with a vicious shot to the head which prompted an 8-count and a good stoppage by the referee Mary Glover to ensure the safety of the boxer.
13 Nov. 112 Ayesha Green, Trenton PAL over Jill Hannon, Front Street Gym RSC-1 (1:39)
-Green was just a ball of fire as she unleashed strong, fast and surprising accurate shots to Hannon in the first round prompting two standing accounts before referee Mary Glover once again did a fantastic job ensure the safety of the boxers and counting out Hannon after the third standing count. However, Hannon showed great courage fighting back after the first two counts before the match was stopped.
14 Nov. 141 Nesa Rodriguez, Mendez Boxing over Kystalyn Ellerbee, Knuckle Game W-3
-After a competitive first round Rodriguez pulled away with a strong finish to get the 3-0 decision over an improving Ellerbee of Knuckle Game Gym.
15 Nov. 112 Marianne OLeary, R&B Fitness over Kristin Saldono, World Class W-3
-Before the show O'Leary told the staff she was the "People's Champ". She didn't disappoint as she pulled out the dominate win and getting the 3-0 decision from the judges.
