All coats collected during the drive will be donated and distributed to men, women and children at homeless shelters, and centers for battered women across the New Jersey metropolitan area.

“The Road to London” series is our signature events; however W.I.S.T.’s goals are to direct their attention to the many needs of our community. With temperatures getting colder everyday and more people without constant shelter, we are delighted to be able to assist as many as we can,” comments Wanda Bruce, President of Women in Support Together.

The Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Women in Support Together, (W.I.S.T) is a pioneer in the field of sports and entertainment promotions in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. Ms. Bruce established W.I.S.T based on her early vision of encouraging women to realize and achieve the goals of empowerment through the collective strength and efforts of female togetherness.

Wanda Bruce is one of the few women in the tough business of professional boxing and has been interested in boxing for the past 25 years. “A Ring of Their Own”, was the only All Female Boxing Series in the industry from 2005 – 2008, in which she was the “Matchmaker”. Wanda has worked assiduously putting together great women’s matches. For three years she made it possible for the group to become, Promoters of the year. Wanda certainly knows the boxing business inside and outside the ropes. In May 2003, she also promoted the first All Female Boxing event in Washington, DC, which was a great success.

She served as an Inspector on the local Boxing and Wrestling Commission, is a licensed promoter and is working diligently to establish women in a prominent way in all phases of professional boxing.

William McLaughlin in conjunction with Trenton Housing Authority will be the hosting facility and the event will include light dinner and many exciting bouts featuring boxers from the New Jersey and surrounding areas. There will be a scholarship fund started for Pamela Leonard, a student 13 years old killed in a drive by on behalf of the Trenton Pal Team Hope and in conjunction with Women In Support Together, overseen by Greater Donnelly Neighborhood Initiative.

The past three “The Road to London” events were held in Ft. Washington, MD in June, August and October 2009 and was a huge success with the attendance well over 450 screaming fans. Anyone who attended will tell you the fights were some of the best entertainment in the area.
